Jealous, eh? She found it and told me, and I see it all now. Seethed with envious ire, didn't you, dazzled by a purity that you couldn't hope to match!
The Crup dragged in muddy bones and buried them in the dead of night, hoping to sicken her with the putrefying stench.
The Wasp sank a cruel, paralysing sting, planting an egg of darkness. Hoped to hatch a monster of tenebrosity that would devour her sweet flesh from within.
Well, she has uncovered your little handiwork now, blast you. Your bloody foul plaque. Found it and destroyed it, and your scheme is now uncovered to stink to heaven! Blast you and damn you--you presumed to try to co-opt her sign of purity to try to strike her down! You dared to raise your foul, stinking hands against her. You DARED!!
YOU HAVE FAILED. And I SWEAR to you by His vengeful hand itself, YOU SHALL SUFFER FOR THIS. HEX YOU DAMN YOU CURSE YOU BLAST YOU
You will WRITHE. You will CRAWL. You will BEG AND WHINE AND PLEAD AND SNIVEL for mercy, but there will be NONE!!
YOU SHALL NOT ESCAPE MY VENGEANCE!!!

We looked back over some his old entries. He wrote something back in January about her getting some kind of honour. Do you reckon it was a plaque? And she's just figured it out, because she's packing everything up to move back to Lincoln Castle?
So that's how they did it. Whoever did it.

I'd say there's a fairly good chance.
any idea who he's talking about? wasps and crups?

Re: Order Only
And if the plaque was presented as part of an honour -- well. Ordinarily I would expect Alecto Carrow to be rather suspicious of gifts. There are quite a few spells to detect curses on objects, but one does have to think to use them.

I'm keeping away from him. So far, it's all right. He's raving, flinging stuff around in his quarters, but he hasn't yelled for me yet. But I'll probably have to clean up some broken glass tonight.

OH.
I think he thinks that the Razzer and his brother are the ones who made Alecto sick. And they might have been. They certainly have every reason to hate her. And he's talking about a plaque, and cursed objects are Hydra's father's specialty, I think. We talked about it once.

Private message to Lucius Malfoy
I gather -- I think -- he's worked out what was making Alecto ill? I wonder if that means she'll elect to stay at Hogwarts after all? That would save the BoG the trouble of recruiting a new teacher for Dark Arts, but she's an unstable and unpredictable individual, and frankly I'd just as soon keep her far away from the school.

We're just arriving back at the Manor with the boys. Did see Carrow's rant earlier but had not seen this message.
Believe you have half your answer in Rod's exchange below. Confess my primary reaction extended only so far as to express disappointment she might recover.
